Lake Anna overnight

September 17-18, 2006 we decided to spend a night at Lake Anna State Park and give our new kayaks some fresh water time.
We arrived in the early afternoon on the 17th and after getting set up we went to the boat launch are to put the yaks in and spent about an hour and a half paddling around. Being a Sunday there were many boats and them PWC things. Some of the PWC "captains" think everyone on shore wants to watch them do doughnuts.

After we had dinner we had our first campfire. We don't seem to fit the mold of other RV'ers who seem to have a campfire every night.

On the 18th we spent about 2 hours exploring the lake and one of the islands near the state park. It was nice to get out on the water when there were few other boats.

Logan also enjoyed his time camping.

A little about our rig

We have a Forest River Flagstaff 827fls which is about a 27' drag behind camping trailer. It has a single slide out for the dinette and an RV Queen bed aft. We call it the boat.
Here are some interior pictures.

Maine and Lobster Run

We came to Maine to visit with some WOTI, Wings On The Internet , friends and eat lobster . We extended our stay to allow some vacation in Maine and eat more lobster. We succeeded. The KOA in Bar Harbor had us right on the shore of one of the many bays. We explored Acadia National Park and of course the LL Bean outlet in Ellsworth.

When we were at Sanford ME we took a trip to Freeport and purchased 2 kayaks and new PFD's.
Next stop is Old Sturbridge Village in MA. where we meet with good friends from Vermont.

We met the Steins at The Old Sawmill Campground. We arrived about 20 minutes before they did. They had a caliper lock up on the RV. It was their anniversary so we cooked dinner for them and visited.

The next day we went to Old Sturbridge for breakfast and on the to village. There were many demonstrations, vertical sawmill , carding mill , grist mill . All were working with water power and the folks giving the presentations were very good. Many of the other areas, pottery, blacksmith, etc. had folks doing things or just there to provide information. All in all a very good time.

On Saturday left and headed home while the Steins continued their adventure.

Following are some pictures of our "vacation".
