October 26 thru 29, 2006.
We decided on one last camping trip before we head of on our cruise. We camped with our neighbors Carl and Suzie and their 4 children. They in their popup and us in our rig. We used our truck to carry the bikes for the kids.
Larry's Golden Age Passport got us 50% off the camping fee.
This picture shows our site on the left and theirs on the right while Larry takes Logan for a walk. The fall colors were very vivid on the west of the blue ridge.
The sites in this area, C, as well as area B have 20/30/50 amp service but no water or sewer. The shower house is near by and we had water very close to the site. We did tank up when we entered the camping area and then added about 5 gallons on Sat.
We enjoy a "mountain man" breakfast which we prepared in our dutch oven. It seemed like our 10 year old Kingsford charcoal has lost some btu's since the breakfast took way to much charcoal and to much time. The tempature was in the low 50's to hi 40's. Just as we were finishing breakfast it began to rain.
A look down the stream that was behind Carl and Suzie's camp site.
A view of the lake, lower Sherando, from the Dam.
