We met Rich and Linda about 10:30 at Turtle Beach so we could kayak around the Jim Neville Marine Preserve.
We went ashore at the location of Midnight Pass, which is now closed, and walked the beach of the gulf shore looking for shells and just enjoying the day. Back in the boats we went around the South end of the preserve and across the ICW to look for the entrance to Catfish and North creeks. Although we didn't find the opening we did see an eagle on the hunt. We watched as it made a pass at the water attempting to catch a fish. It missed and circled a few times before flying off.
We found a little sandy area on a mangrove island where we could stop for our lunch before working our way back across the ICW and the North end of the preserve to head back to Turtle Beach. It was a nice paddle and seeing that eagle made the day.
