We left Long Camp heading west on US12. US 12 is another of those cross country roads that the interstates have replaced. The western terminus is in Aberdeen WA and the eastern terminus is in downtown Detroit. Going west there were some climbs and descents but nothing serious. It is a little twisty, mostly in Idaho. Also some sections are part of the Lewis and Clark trail.
It was a nice drive and we left US12 in Wala Wala WA and headed south to Pendleton and the campground at the Wildhorse Casino. This is a decent campground with a pool and reasonable space between sites. Also you get a Good Sam discount.
We did get our "player" cards but didn't play the slots. Dinner there was reasonable but nothing to brag about.
We went to town and took the Pendleton Underground Tour. I was very interesting to see what went on under the streets of the old city. One of the tunnels went from the railroad station to a house on the far side of the river. Many of the tunnels were used to get goods from the railroad to the business without having them stolen. There was also a tour of Cozy Rooms Bordello. Oh it is now closed. There were interesting stories about the place that our tour guide told us.
We also went to the Pendlenton Woolen Mill but missed the 20 minute tour. We decided not to return for the tour later that day. Suzette did purchase a small wool blanket that we will use for wall hanging. It will go on the hallway wall.
Next was to take the slab, I84, I295, I5 to Portland-Woodburn RV Park.
