Spring Break 2007 Day 20

Today we traveled from the KOA in Florence SC to Rudd's Creek Campground near Clarksville Virginia. Our route took us up I95 then west on I40 where we picked up US70 near x282 then I85 east to the exit for Oxford and Clarksville, US15 north. We wanted to stop at Macra Lace Co. Factory Outlet. Suzette was overwhelmed but we found a few things to purchase, prices are discounted 25% or more. We had parked across the street at an empty warehouse but I think we could have pulled in to the store and made a turn around at the loading dock area.

We continued north on US15 and headed east on US58 about 6 miles to the Corps of Engineers Rudd's Creek Campground. We did not have reservations but there were plenty of empties among the 100 sites. We choose site 91 which was a nice flat, mostly level, site near the water. After getting setup we headed for the Dam and Visitors Center and picked up information on other Corps facilities in the US. After supper we took a walk around the loop that had campsites 53 to 100, which we think are the best sites, and met some other campers that had an oversize Sheltie and visited with them while the dogs got to know each other.

It was cold enough over night that we put our furnace on.
