Bryce

From Fillmore we took UT14 over the mountain and then 89 to Panguitch and  on to Hatch UT which would be our base for seeing the main parks in that area, Bryce, Zion, Cedar Breaks, Kadachrome, Red Canyon. I'll write about those in their own posts. UT14 had some good grades as well as twists and turns.

We had made arrangements for mail to be picked up in Hatch. We found the post office set well back from the main road and only open from 9AM to 1PM week days and 8AM to 10AM on Sat. Interesting. We did get our mail.

After arriving at Riverside Resort and RV and getting set up we decided to take a ride to Bryce to get the lay of the land and evening pictures. Of course the only to get there was via UT12 which is a great road but more on that later.  Not far along UT12 from the junction with 89 you arrive at Red Canyon. Wow the evening colors were fantastic. Following are a couple of our pictures.

Yes our coach would fit through the tunnel, we asked.
Then it was on to Bryce for the evenings colors. You can read about Bryce on your own so I will just let the pictures do the talking.

The next day we returned to Bryce and visited some overlooks we did not stop at the night before.
The following are from Inspiration Point.

These are from Paria View

After our lunch we took the 3 hour tour that goes to Rainbow Point at the end of the park road. Our driver, Skip, was excellent. He has a great knowledge of the parks and flora and fauna as well as history and recent events. More to look at.

A day well spent.

This is the view from our campsite.
