Maine For Lobsta and LL Bean

Travel Day

Sunday July 22, 2007

Today is a travel day so we had a light breakfast and packed up and headed to Maine. Wally and Anne were in Bar Harbor and were traveling to Chewonki camp ground to meet with us. Since they were traveling US1 south we wondered who would arrive in Wiscasset first. We won. But only by about 20 minutes.

After getting set up all of us went off to the salt water pool. It is a very nice pool and it was fun to cool off in the salt water. After a while we decided to take the kayaks out and paddle for an hour or so before supper. Wally and Anne rented a 2 person kayak and we headed to the head of the creek, well as far as US1, which took us thru a train tunnel. We had a good time even though we had to fight the flood tide on the way back to the camp put in.

We had a supper of scallops from the northern neck of Virginia, corn on the cob from Mass. a salad that Anne made and a rice dish. This was followed with a peach cobbler, cooked in a dutch oven, topped with ice cream.

Tomorrow we shop at LL Bean.
