Monday July 23
Maine, you gotta love it. 60 degrees in the am. After a breakfast of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and english muffins it was time to exercise a credit card at the LL Bean outlet in Freeport. They have moved the outlet store to an old Dexter shoe outlet store. We found shorts, shirts and pants at very good prices.
Then it was time for lunch so we went to Day's Seafood Takeout another great picnic type meal. There always seems to be a line but it moves fairly fast. You eat at picnic tables under umbrellas.
Now for the main event, LL Bean's main store complex in Freeport. First we hit the boat and bike store where we bought a weather alert radio, Casco Bay crocks, kayak transport dolly. We looked at lots of other stuff on both floors but didn't contribute anymore to the Maine economy. After all there is the Clothing and camping store and the hunting and fishing store. The only new purchase was a pair of the Casco Bay crocks for Suzette.
We went back to Chewonki and since it was an overcast and drizzly day we spent the remainder of the after noon playing Mexican Train Dominoes with Anne and Wally. After the game we fed Logan and went for supper. We wanted to have Lobsta outside but since it was a rainy Monday and many places were closed we had dinner at Edgecomb Eatery on rt27 just outside of Wiscasset. Back at the camper we had the left over cobbler, ice cream and decaf coffee for desert.
Suzette noticed that the carpet on her side of the bed had a damp area so I took a look under the bed and tightened 2 hose clamps on the water system where the leak was. About an hour later another hose came completely off and just flooded the bedroom area before I got the water shut off.
Crap, might as well get some sleep and deal with it in the morning.
